Electron beam irradiation may have resulted in size reduction, which in turn caused an increase of the optical band gap and photoluminescence intensity. Irradiation at a suitable dose rate was found to enhance the optical absorption performance and photo-activity of the tested TiO2 nanoparticles.</p>
<kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>TiO2</kwd><kwd>electron beam irradiation</kwd><kwd>optical properties</kwd><kwd>photoluminescence</kwd></kwd-group><funding-group><funding-statement xml:lang="en">The authors acknowledge their thanks to Nirmala College, Muvattupuzha and Microtron Centre, Mangalore University, Mangalore, Karnataka State for providing the opportunity to undertake this study.
