According to the results of the performed analyses, it was found that with an increase in the annealing temperature, the average size of HoFeO3 crystallites increases from 24 to 30 nm. The magnetic characteristics of the samples were measured and it was shown that holmium orthoferrite is a paramagnet with a low coercive force. The band gap of nanocrystalline holmium ferrite is determined.</p>
<kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>nanoparticles</kwd><kwd>holmium orthoferrite</kwd><kwd>sol-gel technique</kwd><kwd>magnetic properties</kwd><kwd>optical properties</kwd></kwd-group><funding-group><funding-statement xml:lang="en">Nguyen Anh Tien is grateful for the financial support of Ho Chi Minh City University of Education, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, through Grant No. CS.2020.19.21.</funding-statement></funding-group></article-meta></front><back><ref-list><title>References</title><ref id="cit1"><label>1</label><citation-alternatives><mixed-citation xml:lang="ru">Habib Z., Majid K., et al.
