Transformation pattern in ZrO2–Fe2O3 nanocrystalline system has been introduced.</p></abstract><kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>nanostructures</kwd><kwd>iron-zirconia</kwd><kwd>surface</kwd><kwd>X-ray diffraction</kwd><kwd>Mossbauer spectroscopy</kwd></kwd-group><funding-group><funding-statement xml:lang="en">The authors express their gratitude to V.V.
