Сформулирован принцип модулярного строения наноструктур. Рассмотрены вопросы выбора модуля для модулярного дизайна и алгоритма комбинаторного моделирования. Предложено символьное описание наноструктур с помощью информационных кодов. Методом комбинаторного модулярного дизайна сконструированы вероятные одномерно–периодические и двумерные дважды периодические наноструктуры из топологически идентичных полигонов и соответствующие им плоские и объемные циклические и винтовые наноструктуры. Определены множества одномерных и двумерных базовых совокупностей атомов. Представлен краткий обзор работ по кристаллохимическим особенностям строения неорганических веществ, структуры которых включают сконструированные наноструктуры как фрагменты структур обычных кристаллов. Результаты комбинаторного модулярного дизайна полигонных наноструктур могут быть использованы при моделировании новых структурных типов веществ, включающих полигоноподобные структурные фрагменты из атомов, одномерных и двумерных полиэдрических модулей и модульных блоков.
